Alan and DeEtte

Our journey together...
Alan and DeEtte

Alan

Alan has been blessed to serve with Wycliffe for over forty years. He joined Wycliffe right out of college and spent His first term in Cameroon as a single missionary. From the time he first heard about Bible translation in junior high until now, God has led him faithfully.

DeEtte

DeEtte met the Lord at age 15 in her home church, attended a Christian university, and felt called to missions before she graduated. She moved to Indiana to do campus outreach, worked for six years, then went overseas to do short-term missions work in Switzerland and England before marrying Alan and joining him in Cameroon.

Alan and DeEtte met while he was studying French in France, and were married in 1991 after he completed his first term in Cameroon. They served for 14 years as a family in Bible translation in Cameroon, Africa, adding three children along the way (Caleb, Peter, and Kate).

Since 2007 they have lived in Indiana, where Alan worked for 10 years as a Campus Recruiter for Wycliffe-U.S. at a number of Midwest colleges.

Since 2018 he has served as a Field Coordinator for Wycliffe-U.S., traveling to French-speaking Africa about three times a year where he serves as a liaison between Wycliffe donors and national translators in French-speaking Africa.
